Social climbing

After a fairly mundane run along the High Peak Trail, Billy and  I stopped off at Harboro Rocks where a group of climbers were out enjoying the spring sunshine.

After a chat, they very kindly offered to let me have a go. Cool! Not only did they lend me a harness, helmet and shoes. The lady in the top photo belayed for me.

Thank you so much guys, it made my day

  1. Brings back memories - I used to take groups of kids climbing there. Nice little venue if you forget about the factory below!

    1. Great rock for a non climber, like myself. Lots of nice hand holds but it still felt steep and exposed.

  2. This of rock climbing is for people without "Vertigo"!

    2. Hi from your belayer! Glad you enjoyed a bit of easy rock but it was a bit nippy!
Glad to see we've got biking in common - I've been to ManxGP for several years and my first TT last year. I've never raced like you, but pottering to viewing points on my Kwacker is enough for me.
And as for the running - I'll delegate that to you!

  3. Good fun!, I like when holds are easy and numerous, and risk low... even then I feel some 'risk'...

    1. Very true. I think it's the fear that makes it fun.
